Excursions by boat can be booked to the beautiful surrounding islands. See the marine reserve and colony of fruit bats at Nosy Tanikely, visit the black lemur reserve at Nosy Komba, or go snorkelling off NosyMitsio and Nosy Iranja, the latter being a breeding ground for turtles. |

If you have fallen in love with the black lemurs they can also be seen at Lokobe reserve, which can be reached by pirogue. If you would prefer to 'wet your whistle' rather than your feet, you could always visit the sugar cane factory at Djamandjary and sample the rum which is also distilled there! |
